The primary goal of this Project is to produce an open-source implementation of the next major revision of the Java SE Platform.

The JDK 7 development schedule is divided into a sequence of milestone cycles. Please see the builds and integrations page for detailed build and integration scheduling. A complete calendar of the entire development timeline is also available.
Status: Milestone 3 complete, onward to Milestone 4!
No showstoppers were identified in build 59, so we declared that to be the final build for M3 and the JavaOne Preview Release. The following builds will be renumbered so that the first build of M4 will be numbered 60 rather than 61, and so forth.
We'll start stabilizing Milestone 4 at build 65, which opens on 2009/7/10. M4 will be complete on or about 2009/7/23.
